Principle 01
No algorithmic-magic claims.
We never say or imply 'we computed your compatibility.' Pair takes time to know someone and makes a careful introduction when the moment's right. Compatibility is a feeling, not a number.
A companion for ordinary days. A coach for dating. A matchmaker who waits for the moment that’s actually right.
See it in action
No swipe feed, no compatibility score, no “5 prompts answered.” Pair listens to the moment you’re in and asks one question that helps you understand it better. That’s it. That’s the product.
A real exchange, written in the agent’s actual voice:
Manifesto
Most dating apps are built to maximize swipes. Pair was built against that. Three product invariants you can hold us to:
Principle 01
We never say or imply 'we computed your compatibility.' Pair takes time to know someone and makes a careful introduction when the moment's right. Compatibility is a feeling, not a number.
Principle 02
The matchmaker doesn't open for you because you've been on the app long enough or paid more. It opens when the signs — settled mood, clear values, real availability — actually line up.
Principle 03
Pair won't stretch a conversation to keep you talking. It won't gamify return visits. It earns retention through depth, not duration.
How it works
You talk to Pair about your day, your relationships, the things you're working through. Over weeks, Pair builds a careful picture of who you are — values, patterns, what you're actually looking for.
Before a date: a grounded prep. After: a quiet debrief. Stuck on a text? Pair will look at what you sent (never the other side) and reflect back what's working and what isn't.
If you opt in, Pair watches for the right moment. One introduction at a time — never a feed. Both sides consent at the moment of action, not in some terms-of-service ages ago.
What Pair doesn’t do
A list of features Pair deliberately doesn’t ship. Each absence is a product decision, not a missing roadmap item.
There is no infinite scroll of strangers. The matchmaker introduces one person at a time, when the moment is right.
No magic percentage. Compatibility is a feeling, not a number — we're honest that the work is in the conversation, not in our algorithm.
Stated heights don't predict who you'll connect with. We don't ask, and we don't let other people filter by yours.
No 'finish three prompts to unlock matches.' Pair learns about you by talking with you — like a friend would.
No streaks, no notifications designed to pull you back, no boosts you pay for. We earn retention through depth, not duration.
Your conversations are private to you. We never train third-party models on them, and we never sell — period.
A note from the founder
I’ve watched a lot of careful people get worn out by dating apps. They’re thoughtful, they want a real relationship, and they end up swiping past hundreds of strangers, performing for prompts, second-guessing photos. None of that feels like how people actually meet.
I started building Pair because I wanted a different shape: a companion you can actually talk to, that learns who you are over time, and that only introduces you to someone when the moment is right. No swipe feed. No compatibility score. No volume play.
It’s built carefully, on purpose. You can start using it right now in your browser — it’s free to begin. If you want to ask me anything, email hello@datewise.io. I read everything that comes in.

Frequently asked
Yes — there’s a free tier with a daily message cap so we can keep the lights on while keeping it accessible. Pair Plus ($9.99/month) lifts the cap and adds skill access (pre-date prep, post-date debrief, text coach). Pair Concierge ($39/month) adds higher-touch matchmaker support.
We will never run ads. Your conversations are not used to train third-party models.
Pair is live on the web right now — create an account and start talking, free, up to 30 messages a day. No app store, no waiting. Questions? Email hello@datewise.io; we read everything.
Pair is an AI — we’re honest about that. It runs on a large language model with a careful system prompt and a memory of who you are. When asked, it will tell you it’s an AI; it won’t perform sentience or pretend to be human.
The matchmaker connects you with real people. The agent is the careful coach. The introductions are real humans.
Your conversations are stored in our database, encrypted in transit and at rest. They’re visible to you and to Pair. They are NEVER quoted to another user — that’s the information firewall, and it’s non-negotiable.
We may use anonymized patterns from conversations you rate helpful to improve Pair’s responses — only after a sanitization step that strips names, places, and identifying events. You can delete your data any time by emailing hello@datewise.io.
Pair gets to know you over weeks of normal conversation — your values, your patterns, what you actually want. When the readiness signals line up and you opt in, the matchmaker proposes one introduction at a time.
Both sides have to consent at the moment of the introduction. You see a paraphrased memo, not the other person’s conversations. You can decline without explanation. The next introduction takes time on purpose.
Pair has a hard crisis protocol — if you describe suicidality, abuse, or immediate danger, it surfaces resources (988, the Trevor Project, the NDVH) and stops trying to be a coach. It will never diagnose a mental-health condition or label someone you know.
The matchmaker is gated by readiness signals AND a 7-day pause after any crisis event — Pair will not introduce you to anyone during acute distress.
