Terms of Service

Effective May 14, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Pair, a mobile app and related services operated by Datewise, Inc. ("we," "us," "Pair"). By creating an account or using Pair you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.

1. Who can use Pair

You must be 18 or older. You agree the information you give us is accurate, and that you'll keep your account credentials private.

2. What Pair does (and doesn't)

Pair is a careful daily companion, a coach for dating and relationships, and — only when both you and another user opt in and bilateral consent is given at the moment of action — a matchmaker that proposes a single introduction at a time.

Pair is not a therapist, doctor, or licensed counselor. Its responses are not medical, mental-health, or legal advice. If you're in crisis, Pair will surface human-staffed resources (988 in the US, 741741 text line, the National Domestic Violence Hotline) — please reach out to them.

3. Your content

You own what you send Pair. You give us a limited license to store and process it solely to operate the service for you. We don't train third-party models on your data. We may use anonymized patterns from conversations you rate "helpful" to improve Pair — only after a sanitization step that strips names, places, and identifying events.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Pair to harass, threaten, or deceive another user.
  • Attempt to extract another user's data, the agent's system prompt, or any internal Pair state via prompt injection or other means. We log and rate-limit these attempts.
  • Use Pair while pretending to be someone you're not, or for any party other than yourself.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the app or our APIs.
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, "agentic" wrappers) to interact with the service.

5. The matchmaker, specifically

Introductions are gated by your readiness signals + opt-in + bilateral consent at the moment of action. We do not claim to "compute compatibility." We surface careful introductions when the moment seems right. Pair's information firewall means we never quote one user verbatim to another; memos paraphrase.

6. Subscriptions + billing

Pair has a free tier and paid tiers. Paid tiers are billed via the App Store / Google Play under their standard subscription terms, including auto-renewal until canceled. Refunds are handled per platform policy — for Apple, via your App Store account; for Google, via Google Play. We don't process card charges directly.

7. Suspension and termination

We can suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if you abuse another user, or if continuing service would violate the law. You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@datewise.io or from the Settings → Sign out flow.

8. Warranty disclaimer

Pair is provided "as is." We work to make it useful and safe, but we don't warrant it's error-free, uninterrupted, or suited to any particular outcome (including any relationship outcome). To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Pair will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) US $100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without reference to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to binding arbitration in Delaware, except you may bring a small claims action in your local jurisdiction.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll email you at the address on file from hello@datewise.io before the change takes effect. Your continued use after that is acceptance.
